You have a great business, but you might be struggling to grab the attention of potential clients or customers. Or, perhaps you’re in an industry that is flooded with businesses just like yours. What can you do to separate yourself and stand out?

All businesses struggle with this issue, whether they are small local establishments or large corporations. Setting yourself apart from your competition is important if you want your business to succeed and rise to the top.  In today’s market there are several businesses that offer the same types of services.  From my knowledge and research I cannot find one industry that does not have a competitor; this is actually a great thing, especially for our economy and your business.  Competition is what drives businesses to grow and develop, without competition we would not be nearly as advanced as we are today.  Competition drives us to become better, to be more creative, more innovative, and so forth.  It should not be looked down on, rather it should be praised as the motor that drives us to be better at what we do.

So competition is great, but how do you remain in the public eye and on consumers’ radars?

It can actually be quite easy. Change…Yes, change.

Change can be difficult for a lot of businesses, especially for those who have a board of directors who were part of the founding, an executive who is particularly fond of outdated and overused fonts, or maybe you created your logo or a design for you business and you don’t want to let it go.  We understand it can be difficult to agree to change especially if its your design that needs to be changed.  But, the key point that needs to be addressed is, “What is BEST for the BUSINESS?” A cute flyer designed using the entire color spectrum and a comic font (shall remain anonymous….comic sans…) probably isn’t the best solution for your law firm or doctor’s office. Unfortunately, it happens and we don’t want to see you fall to this same demise.

We want you to be BOLD…

That doesn’t mean use every color found on a rainbow, it means to step out of your comfort zone and realize again, “What is BEST for the BUSINESS.” Allow your brand to develop with the changing times…

So, What is Best for your Business? It seems like an obvious question, but for some reason when it is put in front of you it can be hard to answer.  As far as the Design aspect of your business, we have a few pointers:

  • Evaluate your current designs / logo.  Are they good? Bad?
  • Find your target audience.
  • Research your competition.
  • Write down your goals and expectations.
  • Brainstorm ideas for what you want your business to portray / communicate.
  • Work with a Real, Educated, Experienced Graphic Designer.

Being bold doesn’t mean you need to be radical in an effort to bring more recognition to your brand.  So what does it mean to be BOLD:

  • Accept change with open arms.
  • Don’t copy your competitors.
  • Build a plan for your expectations. Brainstorm and write down your ideas.
  • Dynamic thinking.
  • Organization. Keep everything documented and easy to find.
  • Expect exceptional results.

How can your business’s designs / logo be bold?

Work with a designer or team of designers, like the team here at UDawg Graphics. We are well-educated and experienced and not just in the software we use but in our creative thinking and process; we are visual communicators and we know how to make a visual impact.  Just as an intellect can give a great speech, we can send a great message with our designs. Allow your team of designers to express their creativity.  It is our passion to produce amazing, eye-catching, and memorable art; we won’t let you down. We can shape your brand into an amazing identity that will be recognized in the blink of an eye.

Will you be BOLD today or will you continue to print your old ‘Times New Roman’ logo and hope it works. Remember, “What’s BEST for your BUSINESS?”
